Sudan to Sign UN Plan Protecting Children

KHARTOUM (SUDANOW)—The Sudanese government has announced readiness for signing and implementing a United Nations working plan to consolidate protection of children from violations in armed conflicts.

First Vice President Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih  made the announcement at a meeting on Wednesday with representatives of the concerned ministries and institutions to review the national plan for protection of children against violations in armed conflicts.

Lt. Gen. Salih affirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the children and guaranteeing for them a safe and stable way of living.

The State Minister for Social Welfare Ibrahim Adam has meanwhile said that the agreement to the UN plan came as all Sudanese laws were in conformity with the objectives of that plan.
